ABOUT

I was born in Rome (Italy). Photography has been my life from a very young age. After leaving the Graphic Arts College in Rome, I started my career working as a typographer which lead me to an 18 year relationship with full time work in the Photolithographic and Digital Photography Industry, working in Graphic Design Studios across Rome and becoming the Manager of the Scanning Department and the Supervisor of the Offset printing process.

During this time I've also increased my productivity as a freelance photographer for daily newspapers, as well as weekly and monthly magazines in such subject areas as sport, news, tv, cinema and entertainment.

Between 1997 and 2003 I was the official A.S. Roma football club's photographer as well as Francesco Totti (their captain)'s personal photographer. I covered their Italian Serie A Leagues, Italy Cup, Champions League and UEFA Cup campaigns and as club photographer my work included all the studio shoots for their magazine covers, features, as well as their merchandising catalogues.
In this period I also worked with their sponsors KappaDiadora, Raitrade and Art Electronic for whom I produced the cover photo of their "FIFA 2000" Playstation game (Italian version).

In 2001, following their victory of the Serie A League, I worked with the Vatican State to produce a book marking "AS Roma's Jubilee".

In 2003 I moved to London where I carried on working for a few sports agencies and I also started a collaboration as Still Photographer with the Independent film company Atlantic Picture Company for whom, amongst the many projects I was involved in, I shot the stills of their multi-awarded short movie "Dutch Bird" starring the Irish actor David Kelly.

I've worked as a contributor with various agencies worldwide including Grazia Neri in Italy, Uniphoto in Japan as well as Getty ImagesAction ImagesBackpage International and Professional Sport in the United Kingdom.

Currently I hold the position of Italian Operations Director/Chief Photographer with Backgrid Photo Agency/Shutterstock for whom I cover news and entertainment and run the Italian/European Operation, co-ordinating over 90 photographers.

My portfolio of collaborations includes Giorgio Armani for whom I've photographed various PR events in London and in the music industry includes the Global Artist Service, the pro drummers Steve White (Paul Weller, Style Council, The Who, The Family Silver), Steve Gadd (Paul Simon, Eric Clapton, Chick Coea etc.), Ian Palmer (The World's Greatest Drummer Concert) for whom I photograph concerts, clinics, advertising campaigns and design bespoke photo books.

I use Nikon DSLR, Leica SL system and Fuji rangefinder cameras with a full range of zoom and prime lenses from 14mm to 600mm.

I'm a member of the National Union of Journalists in the United Kingdom.
